Just Energy Transition in the Amazon

In the face of the advance of fossil fuels in Amazonian territories and waters, this event aims to discuss and highlight solutions and issues related to decarbonization, promoting the economic and energy planning of the region, with emphasis on imminent climate challenges. In the Brazilian context, despite the positive discourse on renewable energies and the notable reduction in deforestation, significant investment in oil and gas jeopardizes not only biodiversity but also intensifies climate impacts, directly affecting vulnerable communities. The coherence between environmental discourse and political-institutional practices is crucial to demonstrate the effective protection of the Amazon to the world.
